  • 5 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, actually, most of the dispensaries do not have mortuaries. Even in Mathioya, we have to transport bodies to either Murang’a or Nyeri. However, if you can remember, sometime last year, the Minister made a budgetary provision for the purchase of an ambulance for every constituency. When are these ambulances going to be provided, and in particular the one for Mathioya Constituency? view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Minister clarify the measures the Government is taking, especially to the IDPs who were around Kiambaa Church, who decided to go back and resettle where they used to belong? What assistance is the Government giving to those IDPs, especially on security issues, so that they can live in harmony with everybody else? view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. There have been many issues concerning water boards and water and sewerage companies due to view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this issue of the escalating cost of living is seriously affecting the IDPs in the camps. Most of these IDPs do not have food to eat. Unfortunately, when the Government tries to resettle some of them, some Cabinet Ministers have been opposing this idea of settling them in some parts of this country. What action is the Prime Minister taking against some of the people in the Executive who have refused the IDPs to be resettled in their areas? view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I think the Prime Minister is just going round the specific question that I asked him. view
  • 27 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am sorry about that. Is the Prime Minister in order to go round the clarification that I had asked on the action or the disciplinary measures that he is going to take against the Members of the Executive who have deliberately refused to take orders from the Government on the resettlement of the IDPs? view
  • 26 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the issue of roads in this country is quite worrying because every time our dear Minister for Roads tells us that a road is under design and others are awaiting this and that. However, to ease tension in this country and the House, could the Assistant Minister table a list of all the roads he expects to upgrade to bitumen standard before this year’s Budget is tabled before this House? view
  • 14 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has dealt quite a lot on value addition and also trying to organize groups that can do that. However, I would like him to tell us what action he is taking to improve the production. This is because the volumes of macadamia nuts that come from this country are quite low. What measures is he taking so that we can improve the production of macadamia nuts in this country, especially in Mathioya where the climate is quite good? view
  • 13 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank the Assistant Minister for the statement he has given. I have also received the list of the beneficiaries of the old persons from Mathioya. The list is actually very disappointing because Nyando has got 758 beneficiaries while Mathioya has only 85 persons. This is the case and yet we have over 10,000 old persons in Mathioya who are very needy. What criterion was used to allocate these funds to different constituencies? Why does the Assistant Minister not want to indicate the amount of money that has been disbursed to the people on this list? view
  • 7 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the said officer was a former Assistant Commissioner of Investigations. He was killed in the line of duty. There have been so many such cases. Even the police have been killed in the line of duty. What measures or plans does the Assistant Minister have to insure police officers so that, in such an eventuality, their families are compensated properly? view
