Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, it has taken me the whole morning to get this opportunity and I thank you for that. First and foremost, let me express sympathy to some of my constituents; a young man called Musete was killed last night by gangsters. He has been an artist who has been entertaining us in social forums. On Sunday, we had a nice day with him when the Deputy President was at Maua Stadium. He really entertained us and we were overjoyed. It is so sad that early this morning I was told that he was shot dead by gangsters ...

regions which are coming up. We should not stick to our tariffs, which are meant to fleece the common mwananchi. How can we tax our goods and expect to compete with the other goods in our region? We will not make ends meet. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support the issue of the mosquito and fishing nets. We have the Fisheries Department which has started so many fish ponds in this country. I believe that as Kenyans who want to live healthy lives, we should be going for fish. I think it is high time we reduced taxes on nets, ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. Let me extend my new year greetings to you and to my fellow colleagues. I thank you for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Motion, which I support. Hon. Speaker, I find the time limits which have been set in this Procedural Motion and many others adequate, as my other colleagues have said. Sometimes, debate can be quite interesting and many hon. Members would like to contribute. In that case, the Chair can use his discretion to assess the situation. We can be adjusting according to the need in ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. I agree with hon. (Eng.) Gumbo and I support his amendment. I want to move a further amendment to paragraph “b” of that clause which reads “the final expenditure report within three months after elections”. Three months after elections is quite a short period. When people are smarting from the hassles sometimes it takes time to compile these documents and one needs at least to have a rest. So, I propose six months. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be ...

Let me thank my sister, hon. (Ms.) Fatuma for bringing this important Motion for Adjournment. I rise to support the same with regard to our children, sisters, daughters, mothers and wives. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this is a grave matter. As we share it in this august House, I would request those in power and those people who are involved in this cat and mouse game of trying to protect and cover up incidents of rape and molesting our female gender to be alert and know that the world is awake now. We are not going to tolerate these acts. ...

Hon. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the document. I strongly feel that the Constitution was violated in this particular incident. Land issues in this country are very emotive, and we have to be very careful when we are dealing with them. According to this report, if you look at it carefully, it appears that it was done just unilaterally by an individual to satisfy some quarters. If due diligence was done and the Constitution was properly followed, these actions would not have taken the period they took to be accomplished, especially writing a Gazette Notice at 8.30 p.m. Why ...
