Last week, our able Speaker made a ruling with regard to Kirinyaga Mihiriga Kenda Petition, which has been lying in the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights. The ruling was that the Committee should give the way forward today. We are about to go on recess and our people in Kirinyaga are waiting for the results of the petition, which was tabled here almost six months ago. I seek your advice. view

  • 24 Nov 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is a pity that we are discussing a bank which is closed and involves a lot of money to the tune of billions and about 54,000 families. This matter should not be left to the CBK alone, but the Government should also take it upon itself and save the clients involved because it is embarrassing. There was a time when there were rural banks. All banks that belonged to a famous banker called Mr. Ngumba had to be closed and there was no explanation for it.
