  • 2 Oct 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, my sympathies go to Sen. Munyes for the ugly incident which took place. Nevertheless, he had asked me for this Statement before the incident took place. The Statement is about a case where some policemen were found teaching pupils in one of the schools in Turkana County. The incident was aired by both local and international television stations. However, I wish to respond as follows: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the two schools where the policemen were found teaching are Lokiriama Primary School and Lokipetot Primary School in Loima Sub-County. It should not only be scrutinized by the Committee and the Senate, but also taken to the relevant department in the Ministry, so that we can make use of it. It is very important and useful and has long lasting benefits. What we are discussing here is about natural resources and their benefits. We cannot get the benefits until we compare ourselves with those other countries which already have minerals or natural ... view

  • 23 Sep 2014 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, much has been said by my fellow Senators, but it is also important to note that tea is not just a crop; it earns money when it has been processed and exported. That is why we need to get more Senators attending that conference. There are so many problems in the tea industry. Recently we have had cases of under-weighing of fertilizers.
