Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to weigh in on the appointment of Ms. Elizabeth Wangui Muchiri as a member of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to represent the National Police Service Commission. It should not be forgotten that I am also supporting you to be the Governor of Laikipia. I wish you all the best. We have heard so much about this lady, Ms. Muchiri. We know her capabilities that have come out well. We have faith that she will ably represent the police force in the SRC. All I want her to do ...

Madam Muchiri will add her wealth of experience to the SRC. She should know that policemen live in deplorable conditions and their salary is low. The work they do is to take care of all of us in the country. Therefore, it is important that their welfare, housing, allowance, salary and health insurance are looked at. As hon. Kiare rightly said, we are not supporting Ms. Muchiri because she is a lady, we are supporting her because of her experience and rich curriculum vitae. She is bringing in her wealth of experience to the SRC. We shall see the fruits ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wish to support this Bill on waste management. It is an important Bill. I want to commend the Leader of the Majority Party for bringing it to the House. All you need to do is to look at our environment. The environment is key in handling waste management, particularly in our country. I am glad that the law that has been proposed touches on county governments and the national Government. That is where waste is all over the place. Sometime if you walk around, it is sickening how people handle waste. We need ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Apparently, the Order Paper I picked was indicating that my Question is coming in the afternoon. When I heard you calling me, I certainly had to come back to the House. I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works the following Question: - (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary state the consolidated length in kilometres of roads tarmacked by the national Government across the country from 2013 to date, including a breakdown of the length per sub-county and county?

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to also weigh in on the State of the Nation Address by our President. It is true that the Jubilee Government has achieved some growth of our economy. This can be attributed to the first term between 2013 and 2017. Needless to say, certainly a few developments have taken place from 2017 to date. We were told that 11,000 kilometres of roads were tarmacked. It is good to know where exactly these tarmacked roads are. I do not challenge they could be existing but there is a lot of ...
