  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for this chance to also contribute. First and foremost, I would like to thank the good people of Tongaren Constituency who have elected me to this House three times now. I assure them that I will diligently continue working for them. This 12th Parliament has been very interesting. I thank the Members for what they have done in the dying minutes and days of this Parliament. That, finally, they have agreed that the NG-CDF should be shared equitably. This has been my cry for the last five years. I have had a nasty experience whereby my ... view

  • 11 May 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I was going to rise on a point of order but you let him spew all the verbiage unchallenged or even stopped by yourself. view
  • 11 May 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, while we understand that you belong to his wing, we expect you to actually assist the minds of these gentlemen. view
  • 11 May 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, we expect that you could actually be able to rein in some of the verbiage that is being used by especially one Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah because if he is talking of a collapse of Azimio, then I think he seems to know something we do not know, and he should tell us what it is. How many others have you bought? How many are you intending to buy and at what cost? I would dare say at the risk of being reprimanded by yourself; that, the quality of debate in this House depends on the Speaker. I beg ... view
  • 10 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for this opportunity to also contribute to this very important Bill. Indeed, it is important that we take good care of our military personnel not just while they are in service but when they are out of service. This is because they need a piece of mind to be able to perform the duty of ensuring the security of the nation, securing our borders and ensuring our sovereignty. They need a real peace of mind. It is difficult when that piece of mind is absent because when you go to war and you come ... view
  • 10 May 2022 in National Assembly: psychological stresses which need to be handled. I am glad that this Bill actually addresses that issue such that these veterans will also have access to good psychological care so that they can be rehabilitated to be able to mainstream them back into the society and also the fact that the families will be taken care of like their medicals, education and things like that. In a nutshell, I fully support this Bill and perhaps this should be the beginning so that in future we can beef it up and ensure that we actually give them more benefits than what ... view
  • 27 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for this opportunity to also eulogise a great person and a great leader of this country by the name of Hon. Emilio Mwai Kibaki, the retired former President of this country. For us in the western part of Kenya, Kibaki held a special place. Indeed, in the 2002 elections, the western part of Kenya gave Kibaki close to 80 per cent of their votes. This was not just because of the influence of Michael Wamalwa Kijana, but because the Western Kenya people had great hopes in Kibaki’s Government and indeed, he did not disappoint in his ... view

  • 27 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: it. I told His Excellency the President Mwai Kibaki, “Hon. Wetang’ula stepped aside due to the Tokyo scandal and the investigations have not come up with anything, why can you not reinstate him? Kenyans are asking kama wewe unawacha watu wako kwa mataa ?” And the President laughed and told me “ Eseli wewe wacha siasa nyingi ”. We then left the President’s office at Harambee House but within a week the Hon. Wetang’ula was reinstated as the Minister for Foreign Affairs. So I have always remembered Mzee Kibaki as a very witty person that listened to his people. Hon. ... view
