  • 11 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you can notice, there are still consultations that need to be done. I think this Question should be deferred. Even the second part of the Question has not been answered at all. I wanted to know when the AFMH will be registered with NHIF. The answer he has given is about the police being registered with the NHIF. So, the Question has not been answered totally. view
  • 11 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I hope that you will defer this Question to a later date. I will also join them in that consultation so that I give them some guidelines on what I meant by this Question. view
  • 9 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, as the Questioner had mentioned, this Question was first asked in early 2009 and several reassurances were given to the House as to the completion of the project, but it appears they were unable to do so. Could the Minister inform this House how many such projects they have in other counties? Now that we have a new Constitution, does the Ministry intend to leave these unfinished projects as burdens of the incoming counties? view
  • 9 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I had asked for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for East African Community vis-a-viz the nomination of the secretary for the East African Community. The Minister was directed to give that Statement sometime last week which she did not. I was hoping that she would be available to give it today. view
  • 9 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this time to contribute to this Motion. From time immemorial, judges and magistrates have been men and women of respect in a community. That is because the basic instincts of a human being are to be uncontrolled. Therefore, we need law to control them so that they can live within the norms of society. Throughout history, there were times when judges and magistrates were looked at as evil, on and off, over time. We need to be careful that we do not revert back to those dark days. We need ... view
  • 5 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Energy the following Question by Private Notice. view
  • 5 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: (a) Given that international oil prices have fallen from US$140 to US$40 over the past three months, why have the local fuel prices remained high despite the Minister's promise to institute price controls? view
  • 5 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: (b) What urgent measures is the Ministry taking to ensure that farmers access reasonably priced fuel for land preparation to avoid another food shortfall next year? view
  • 5 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: (c) When will the Minister effect the controls/regulations? view
  • 5 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I thank the Assistant Minister for the answer. I would like some clarifications from it. In part "a" of your Question, you tend to suggest that the prices of crude oil have reduced by about 69.3 per cent. However, on a quick calculation, there is a reduction of over 70 per on the prices of crude oil. You have also advised farmers to form cooperative societies to access or procure cheap petroleum products. What period of time will farmers require to form co-operative societies, so that they can access cheaper fuel so that we ... view
