8 Oct 2008 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was wondering whether my luck had run out today. However, thank you for this chance to contribute to this Motion for the Ministry of Education. I would like to add my voice of tribute on my own behalf and the Constituency of Kimilili in Bungoma North for the good work the Ministry is performing in this country. You are performing a very good task but you are up against very difficult people in this country. This is to the extent that they have loaded your schools with too many children because the family planning ...

6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Since this matter was discussed here and brought to light by the Prime Minister himself, that he is actually doing a thorough investigation and we expect results, is it in order for us to continue taking so much more time on the same issue that we discussed yesterday?

6 Aug 2008 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise on a point of order in that the hon. Member contributing to the Bill right now suggests that we should have a total overhaul of the ECK without suggesting a total overhaul of this House because we are all here because the ECK declared us the winners of our various seats. So, if we want to overhaul the ECK, then we should also overhaul this House.

Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for giving me a chance to contribute to this very important Motion. I would like to congratulate the National Dialogue and Reconciliation Committee for a job well-done, because I believe this is a product of that Committee. This process is long overdue. The previous speakers have said that a new constitution is a promise all parties made, large or small. I am sure it was not an election tool. I am sure that we were all committed to that fact. However, we must realise that a constitution on its own is not a panacea ...

31 Jul 2008 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for allowing me to contribute to this very important Bill and, in the course of contributing, to strongly support it. From the outset, I would like to say that I strongly support this Bill. That is because many things have happened in this country since Independence in 1963. Many people, in the course of time, have lost their livelihood and all their property at various stages since Independence. Indeed, in my constituency, I am a host to very many who have been displaced from all over, including Mt. Elgon, since 1963. It is ...

30 Jul 2008 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the hon. Member in order to state that some of the beneficiaries of the Mau Forest are in this House? If that is true, could he substantiate and table the evidence?

30 Jul 2008 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this Motion. As matters stand after the last person who has contributed, you can see the vehemence of opposing this Motion. In light of that, I wish to move an amendment to this Motion. The reason why I want to move this amendment is to amend the issue of nominating non-sitting Members of Parliament to the Parliamentary Service Commission. I accept the fact that gender parity and regional balance should be present in the Parliamentary Service Commission. When you look at the Judicial Service Commission, you ...
