This is meant to strengthen the authority of a chairperson of a committee to exclude any person from the proceedings of a Committee. view

Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Standing Order 256 be amended in paragraph (2) by deleting the words “Standing Order 124 ( Not more than one stage of a Bill to be taken at the same sitting )” The effect of the amendment is to provide for a Motion of exemption of business from the Standing Orders in relation to Standing Order No.124, which provides that not more than one stage of a Bill to be taken at the same sitting can be made. view
