21 May 2013 in National Assembly:
Thank you hon. Speaker. We are still learning how to use these new devices. My name is Gikaria from Nakuru Town East Constituency. First, of all, let me say that I rise to support this Motion brought by hon. Koyi on how to assist parastatals. If you look at Nakuru, we have one parastatal by the name Pyrethrum Board of Kenya (PBK); it has been brought down to an extent that reviving it is a big problem. We think that the only way we can support the revival of that parastatals is by the Government coming in to assist. Of ...

16 May 2013 in National Assembly:
Hon. Speaker, Sir, that is exactly what I am going to do. I will seek clarification. Some of us do not have very good ears and I thought that once a statement has been tabled, we are supposed to get copies, so that we can read and respond or seek clarification based on the facts. But since we started, I do not have that. All the same, are we supposed to be given copies of what has been tabled in the House? Secondly, I heard the Leader of the Majority Party saying âcontrary to the Press statementâ. What is the ...

16 May 2013 in National Assembly:
Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to agree with the Member who has just spoken. This House, as we are made to understand, is a House of rules. Much as my colleague has said that desperate times call for desperate measures, it is important for us to follow the procedures, so that we do not have any excuses. I think Engineer was right that this is a House of rules and we need to follow them.

7 May 2013 in National Assembly:
Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. My name is David Gikaria, Member of Parliament for Nakuru Town East. I rise to support my colleague from Turkana for having brought this Motion. I ask myself: Who are we talking to? Are we talking to the President or the Government? This is because these things started with the constituency of the Leader of Majority Party, and then there was Busia, Bungoma, Turkana and it is almost everywhere. Early this afternoon, we were treated to some circus in the formation of committees. What we need most is to have those ...

25 Apr 2013 in National Assembly:

Allow me to take this opportunity to thank God and the people of Nakuru Town East Constituency for having given me an opportunity to come and serve them in this very honourable House. I also want to take this opportunity to thank you and your deputy on your election to the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

25 Apr 2013 in National Assembly:
Hon. Speaker, Sir, I have heard you talking about relevance, but allow me, this being my maiden speech, to talk about something that was talked about during the debate on the Presidential Address. It is about the housing issue. I think the President made it very clear--- As you know, since the violence of 1992 the people of Nakuru have been migrating and housing has been a problem. I want to thank you for when you were making your speech upon your election you made it very clear that the Tenth Parliament passed very many governance laws that were supposed ...
