• 19 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Section 6 of the KMTC Act of 1990 places the duty of admission of students to KMTC on the Academic Board constituted by the Act. However, the Universities Act of 2012 created the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Board (KUCCPB), which has been selecting students for different courses in universities and colleges, including the KMTC. It has created confusion amongst the students as well as the college management as these are two bodies performing the same function. view

Speaker, in the Statement, the Leader of the Majority should inquire into and report on the measures taken by the Government to end the confusion in admission of students to tertiary institutions. Secondly, he should tell us the role of the KMTC Academic Board in respect to admission of students to certificate and diploma courses in view of the fact that the arrangement provided for by the KMTC Act of 1990 was not repealed by Section 10 of the Universities Act of 2012. view

• 12 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: About a month ago, I read a Petition on behalf of travelers from North Rift in relation to the withdrawal of Kenya Airways flights from Nairobi to Eldoret. That Petition was committed to the Chair of the Committee on Transport, Public Works and House. Then the Chair talked of two weeks. Two weeks have increased to two months. I would just want to know from the Chair the fate of that Petition. view
