Irregular allocation of public and community land by the now defunct county council disenfranchised many Kenyans of their right to own land. For instance, the allocation of land to community entrepreneur ranchers who never settled on the said land left many Kenyans landless especially in Akithi Division in Tigania West, Meru County.
