Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security regarding incidents of cattle rustling in various parts of this country. view
  • 1 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: Agricultural areas continue to experience incidents of cattle rustling with many cattle and goats being stolen and people kidnapped. This is the case yet in Tigania West, little or no action is taken by the police to recover the missing persons or the stolen animals. view
  • 1 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: In this Statement, the Chairman should inquire into and report to this House on the status of recovery of missing persons and animals. He should also tell us what the government is doing to bring the culprits to book and any plans by the Government to increase patrols in areas vulnerable to cattle rustling, including increasing the number of Kenya Police Reservists and providing a helicopter or vehicles for patrols. view

  • 31 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, with your permission, I will now highlight a few important things about Tigania West Constituency, which I represent. As you may be aware, this constituency has many challenges, some of which are as a result of neglect by past regimes. It is discouraging that even the Jubilee Government has not made any substantive State appointment from Tigania West, which supported it overwhelmingly. Other challenges include poor infrastructure and lack of adequate water for agriculture and domestic use. There is also the issue of cattle rustling by neighbouring communities.   • 31 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: We also have the problem of title deeds. We have no title deeds in my constituency, yet land is a very important factor of production. Without this document, people cannot engage in any meaningful activities. I, therefore, appeal to the Government, through the relevant Ministries, to intervene quickly to end the suffering of innocent Kenyans, especially in Tigania West. view
