Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I want to appreciate the intention of the hon. Millie Odhiambo. But my biggest concern would be what entails accreditation. It is a very tedious and rigorous process that even if you talk of three months, we are actually putting panic into our institutions. Our understanding in this law is that the existing universities shall be deemed to have been established under this Act. In this particular clause, we are talking about campuses and colleges. 60 Wednesday, 5th December, 2012(P) THAT, the Bill be amended in Clause 73 by:- (a) deleting the words “or Vice- Chancellor” appearing immediately after the word “Chancellor” in sub-clause(1); (b) deleting sub-clause (2) and substituting therefor the following new sub-clause- “(2) Any person who immediately before the commencement of this Act, is a Vice Chancellor of a public university or Principal of a constituent college of a public university, shall remain in office for the remaining period of his or her term of office”.
