  • 27 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. I have noted and appreciate that you have allowed Members to speak for five minutes each. However, there are 50 to 60 Members who would like to address this issue. All of us will not have a chance to speak considering that the time is 4.30 p.m. If you do the math, given that the House will adjourn at 7.00 p.m., not every Member will be able to pay tribute to His Excellency Mwai Kibaki. view
  • 27 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: I suggest that speaking time be reduced to either two or three minutes. We did that for the late President Moi, when we contributed for two minutes each. view

  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to oppose this Motion. This is a Procedural Motion. It aims at exempting Motions sponsored by Private Members, yet those sponsored by the Leaders of the Majority and Minority parties or the Government are considered on Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. The only time allocated for Private Members’ Motions is Wednesday morning. Currently, there is a backlog of Motions sponsored by Private Members. We need to discuss Private Members’ Bills in this House because the current Government has failed. There are no liquids available in the country - fuel, milk and water are unavailable ... view
  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: . There will be nobody to speak on behalf of the hustlers. If Private Members only have an opportunity on Wednesday morning, what are the Leaders of the Majority and Minority parties doing with their Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday? I totally oppose this Motion and urge all Members to oppose it so that Private Members can have their say in this House, now that the Government and the Opposition are in bed with each other. We can have other alternative voices speaking for the voiceless. view
  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: The work of the Opposition is to keep the Government in check. view

  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, we thank all the Members who contributed and supported this Bill. We have taken into consideration the views of those who had a different opinion. I beg to second. view
  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Yes, I was mentioned by the Hon. Otiende Amollo. From his argument, if these are the type of lawyers that were promoting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), no wonder it was declared null, void and unconstitutional. I sympathise with those who trusted him to represent them. view
  • 13 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I was in this House when we were discussing this Bill. We are not saying that we will not support the Huduma Bill. We are saying that the Second Reading of the Bill was completed at 1.05 p.m. today. In fact, we went beyond the required time. view
