  • 26 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Let me remind them that they may hold demonstrations but they should remember that this country is governed by the rule of law, and every citizen needs protection. You need protection to picket and demonstrate. Constitutional office holders are also protected by the law. It is a shame that leaders continue calling for demonstrations and to disturb the peace and stability of this country that has been there since independence. They are not ashamed of themselves when they even continue picketing inside this House. view

  • 26 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I would like to say categorically that even our police officers are protected by the law. People pretend to be holding peaceful demonstrations while armed with stones. We request police officers to only use rubber bullets while dealing with demonstrators who are armed with “rubber stones”. This country has no power vacuum. We have a sitting president, and there will be no vacuum at any particular moment. The law is very clear. view
  • 26 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 26 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. This is a honourable House. We cannot be cheated with figures that we do not know what they are based on. If Hon. Opiyo says NASA garnered 8.7 million, where did he get the figures from? No, no, no. We cannot be treated to figures that are cooked by individuals that I do not know where they get them from. There is nowhere written that Hon. Raila got 8.7 million votes. We only know that Hon. Raila got 6.2 million votes. I am on a point of order because this honourable House cannot be lied ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. It seems I am very popular. That is why people are complaining. I am David ole Sankok from Narok. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I hope you have not eaten into my time. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you again especially for having been elected unopposed. We know there is a possibility of President Uhuru Kenyatta being elected unopposed on 17th October. I would also like to thank the Jubilee Party for giving me this opportunity to represent persons with disabilities as a nominated Member. I also thank the six million Kenyans with disability who I have been leading as a chairman for three years before I retired voluntarily last year. I would also like to thank the 11th Parliament for having ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: intelligent, loyal to his people, obedient and one who preaches and practises peace. He is a President who leads a party whose slogan is Tuko Pamoja . If we translate it into our mother tongues, it is kitii tenebo in Kimaasai, turi hamwe in Kikuyu and kimi kibagenge in Kalenjin. In Dholuo, it is wan kanyachiel . view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: It is a party that has brought all Kenyans together. When our President speaks of a united and unifying country, he actually means and practises it unlike our competitors whose slogans we cannot understand. They are slogans that we can say are incantations. Slogans like tibiim or tialala is not understood in our languages. It may be that our fellow citizens are being recruited into a very dangerous cult. We do not know unless they explain the meaning of these words. I would like to state that it is very unfortunate for Members in NASA to have been boycotting House ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: kind of parliament which we do not understand. They are being remote-controlled by fellows that are not Members of Parliament. These are just principals. I do not know whether they are principals of high schools or whatever they call themselves. The Members are being remote-controlled. The most unfortunate thing is that they are here every day – loitering around this place, signing in so that we do not invoke the rule that a seat is declared vacant if one does not attend eight consecutive sittings. Sometimes it is because the food here is a bit cheaper. That is why we ... view
  • 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to start by congratulating you for being elected the Speaker of the National Assembly. view
  • 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I want to congratulate the Leader of the Majority Party, Hon. Aden Duale for being a very good leader. I congratulate all the Members for having been elected to this House. Also, I congratulate the Majority Party for making sure that the country is moving despite the fact that there are evil forces against it. I support this Motion despite the fact that part of this House has been held to ransom by an elder in the name of a principal. Therefore, as a House, we need to move forward and make sure that the names which have been proposed ... view
