During that period, you issued instructions that no Committee should hold meetings until 23rd January 2017. Due to that, we could not hold any meeting to look at this Bill. I had raised this issue with the Clerks to the Committee and they are not listing it as one of the pending petitions. So, we have been unable to act because we have not accessed it. view

  • 25 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, based on what the Petitioner has asked, I do not see any problem with the two Committees working together. He has talked of tax evasion. This is a cross-cutting issue. If it is an issue of labour laws and non-payment of deductions, then that falls within our Committee’s mandate. We can handle it. view
