  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Secondly, I really want to ask my friend, the Chair of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, that when he is bringing something for us to support, let him consider convening his fora elsewhere to lobby and explain to us, so that we can understand and read from the same page. Otherwise, I oppose these amendments. I suggest that we put the regulations first and then we allocate this money. I know that we may have some Members of Parliament who want to be Senators in future. So, that is why they are supporting these amendments but I want to be ... view
  • 26 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Yes. Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for the kind direction. I am properly guided. As I wind up my contribution on this Bill, we should always be very clear. We should not go round on issues which are straightforward like what we were discussing here in the morning. As a representative of the people, I believe that any foreigner who is in this country illegally and hawking, running a shop or doing things which Kenyans can do should be put in the next plane back to his country, so that we protect our businesses, and we become very clear about things ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the President’s State of the Nation Address. view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Generally, I support this Motion, but I have a few reservations. When we talk about national values we need to identify parameters that can make this country tell whether we are on course or we are lagging behind. The same should apply to the national security. We would have wished the President to have some statistics. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: As a country, we need to know about the protection of our borders, whether we are deteriorating or improving. In future I would like to see his commitment on what he will do for this country that we can measure. This will enable us compare during the subsequent addresses to this Parliament to get to know whether we are improving or deteriorating. view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: I would also support his statement on allowing the rule of law to take its course before criminalising people. What we have seen in this country is much of rumour mongering that is aimed at assassinating the characters of some civil servants in this country. If you look at the number of corruption cases that are reported through the print media, social media and rumour mongering in funerals, you will think that this country did not have a Government, but a type of a casino where someone would come in and walk out with sacks of money. So, to allow ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, on the Big Four agenda, we are aware that policies are made for the public good. They are made to solve public problem. However, some of the policies that the Government implements that cause public outcry such as the issue of Housing ought to be re-looked at. It is a good concept that will assist those with no homes. However, as long as Kenyans are not comfortable with it since we are making these policies for them and they are not willing to have their salaries deducted for the Housing Fund, the Government should consider terminating ... view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Finally, in the spirit of reconciliation and the hand shake. I am just hoping that after we go to the general elections in 2022 those fellows who were engaging in economic sabotage and taking this country backwards - like, those who uprooted the railway tracks...I hope, this time round they will not do the same because, as a country, we cannot invest in infrastructure that will be brought down after elections. view
  • 24 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support this Motion. Thank you. view
  • 2 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Even as I support this Report, I was really waiting to contribute on the amendments by Hon. Peter Kaluma. I just want to say that even as we adopt this Report, it is very important that the agencies that are supposed to implement such reports do so. This House is spending a lot of time doing investigations and coming up with these kinds of recommendations in vain. So, I wish that the agencies in this country could go back and ensure that every investigative report that has The electronic version of the Official Hansard ... view
