  • 17 Mar 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, first and foremost, I am grateful to the Chairman for giving the statement. However, it is a pity that he wants to portray a situation where there is no problem on the ground. Let me inform this House--- view
  • 17 Mar 2015 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to seek clarification because the response given by the Chairman was not adequate. The other schools were going on with studies. Why was Garbatulla the only school closed? ... view

The situation in Mandera is really pathetic in terms of insecurity. On the ground, we saw a lot of development that is taking place; a lot of structures are coming up and business is booming. Citizens living in the diaspora are really investing in Mandera. So, if there is insecurity, are they really going to keep investing? We are killing these counties that have come through ... view

I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries regarding the Malka Daka irrigation project in Garbatula, Isiolo County. In the Statement, the Chairperson should:- (1) State whether a needs analysis was conducted before the initiation of the project and, if so, table the report. (2) Explain why the affected community and the County Government of Isiolo were not involved in the design and implementation of the project.
