  • 31 Oct 2024 in Senate: Finally, engage the directorate of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to have an investigation undertaken to ascertain the identity of persons or organisations funding and coordinating the protests and demonstrations in the county. view
  • 31 Oct 2024 in Senate: Consequently, the Committee resolved to invite the following stakeholders, to deliberate the issues raised by the Senate the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, and the Inspector General (IG) National Police Service (NPS) to deliberate on the security situation in the country and standard operating procedures for handling demonstrations in Kenya. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Chairperson of the Committee, on first tracking the insurance compensation to police officers who either lost their lives or, were injured during the demonstration, invited the Director of Occupational Safety and Healthy Health Services on the status of claims filed by the injured police ... view
  • 31 Oct 2024 in Senate: As I conclude, I wish to thank the Office of the Speaker and the Clerk of the Senate for the steadfast support that they have accorded this Committee, as well as the Members of the Committee for their utmost dedication and commitment to the duty. view
  • 30 Oct 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. My questions are: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary indicate the number of schools that are connected to electricity and water in Isiolo County, and outline steps the Government has taken to ensure that the remaining schools are connected? (ii) What plans does the Government have to also address the security risk posed by the lack of fences along school borders to students and staff? (iii) Could the Cabinet Secretary state plans by the Government to improve school infrastructure in Isiolo County, specifically in Mogore Primary School in Sericho Ward, where Grade 6 pupils are ... view
  • 30 Oct 2024 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have many questions and I also need to interrogate the response. If you do not mind, I will do it once. view
  • 30 Oct 2024 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, this is a weighty matter. I will go very fast. Two minutes will be enough for me if you will allow. They are all related. view
  • 30 Oct 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. First, I am disappointed with the response given by the Cabinet Secretary. I had expected he would give me the list of the schools that are connected to electricity and the ones that are not, but the response is general. It only gives the number of schools. It will be easier for me and the public to see which schools do not have electricity and water. Number two, it is unfair for the Ministry to tell us that National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) will be provided or county governments will provide water when I ... view
  • 30 Oct 2024 in Senate: What strategies are in place to ensure that capitation allocation has been properly used? If it is properly used, that money will help our children. I would expect the Cabinet Secretary to show us what NG-CDF and the national Government have done. On the fences, there are so many drugs in our counties. Without a fence, the display issues will be affected. The issues of drugs will also affect our children. What is the Ministry doing about it? Thank you. view
  • 17 Oct 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. My question first goes to the Counsel on the side of the Deputy President, on attack on the national security. The National Intelligence Service is a critical organ of a Government. The attack by the Deputy President is serious. I have seen the video being played that what the current President said when he was the Deputy President is equal. I also heard the Deputy President saying, “I have learned from my boss”. Does that answer the question of gross misconduct on the part of attack on the security? Secondly, on the issue of disinheriting ... view
  • 17 Oct 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. My question is to the Deputy President’s counsel. I saw you trying to cross-examine the witness before us on a report of the Senate, which I believe he has not interacted with, and also the Motion before the House and the National Assembly. What are you trying to drive out of that? Thank you. view
