Senators, if you look at Standing Order No.51(3), it says:- “Despite paragraph (2), the Speaker may, on the request of a Senator, defer the putting of the question to the following day in which case the Speaker shall thereupon nominate a time at which the question shall be put.” Emphasis here is “deferring the putting of the question to the following day”. view
