  • 21 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the hon. Eng. Ephraim Maina tells me that the memorandum was submitted last year. Surely, the twenty-one days have elapsed, and I just want to confirm that if there is really any urgent matter in this country, then it is this one. This House has established a Departmental Committee on the cost of living. This Government has declared a national disaster on this matter. view
  • 21 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, can you rule and rule in a manner as to compel the Minister to realize that we cannot wait for one more day for Kenyans to continue suffering, so that he can come and prosecute this matter? view
  • 19 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: to ask the Minister for Education:- (a) Is the Minister aware that the roof of the entire block of Lorengippi Primary School in Loima District was blown away by wind thereby forcing pupils to learn in the open under the scorching sun? (b) When will the Government allocate adequate money to repair the school? view
  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I sincerely wish to thank the hon. Minister for his text. I just want the Minister to know that this is a pre-independence matter. Independent governments have promised to resettle the Talai Community. In fact, they were taken to his neighbourhood. The Talai were moved by the British colonialists from Kericho Town to Gwassi, where they were rejected and they were brought back on the promise that they would be given land. I am only stating facts. view
  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you will notice one thing from the point of order hon. John Mbadi. First, he has made me a Minister. Secondly, I want to agree with him that actually they did not reject. I was only stating the same facts. These were fighters against colonialism. They were taken to Gwassi to die, as he has correctly put, and they received them well. Now, when they came back, they were promised to be settled. view
  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: The population is also important. They were taken there at 700, they are now about 6,000 in terms of population and about 2000 households. This is not a contentious matter. I just want the good Minister to appreciate the role of these people played to fight for the Independence of this country. What assurance could he give to this House that all view
  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. May be I did not hear the Assistant Minister properly. If you look at the Question asked by Mr. Mbadi, you will find that part “a” asks whether the Minister is aware that the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is operating without a properly constituted board, which he says he is aware. • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Is anyone here from the Ministry of State for Special Programmes? Yes, Deputy Leader of Government Business! view
  • 16 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Namwamba, you will have the Statement in two weeks time! view
