I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government, on the tussle within the Nairobi City Council, due to the purported debt of Kshs9 billion allegedly not paid by the Nairobi Water Company. I am told that some bags of maize have been deposited there. The Assistant Minister has said that the Ministry has posted a depot manager to the facility. I would appreciate if he could tell me the name of the manager, ... view
  • 12 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I really want to believe every word of the Assistant Minister. I am happy that before he answered this Question, he ensured that he talked about some items being at the depot. He has also clearly told this House that there is a manager for that depot. I would not want to come back to this House to ask the name of the manager. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I just want the Assistant Minister to confirm that the manager who will now operate the depot will have his own separate budget for that depot, independent of ... view
