  • 20 Jun 2013 in Senate: Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale, I have made reference to the Article you have pointed out and it is my opinion that this Article does not limit the kind of debate that we are undertaking. It talks about initiating investigations on its own initiative or on a complaint into present or historical injustices. Where would you classify those people? I still want to believe that the word “current” cannot be construed in this instance to mean only those ... view
  • 20 Jun 2013 in Senate: Hon. Senators, you can now understand why this is rightfully referred to as the Upper House, because of the thorough manner in which you interrogate all issues. Senators, before I propose the Question, I want to revisit the issues that have been raised, because specific reference has been made to the Constitution. Because of the supremacy of the Constitution, let us revisit what was raised by Dr. Boni Khalwale, under Article 67(2)(e) on the Land Commission which reads:- “to initiate investigations, on its own initiative or on a complaint, into present or historical land injustices, and recommend appropriate redress;” The ... view
