  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Allow me, at the outset, to support the Report by the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources on the issues that they have raised on the inquiry into the death of the 11 black rhinos. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, what we are seeing from the Report, is exactly what Hon. Nyikal has said. I want to put it in stronger terms! It is negligence and failure to take responsibility of your own duties. We do not expect an institution like this to run without a board. That is what we found out. We ... view
  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: we cannot allow the natural flora and fauna that we have to diminish. We must protect what we have. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I beg to support the Report. view
  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Allow me to appreciate the Chair for the response that she has given to us. However, the Statement lacks mathematical realities. When you look at that Statement, which I did and I want to thank her for forwarding it to me on time, it says that in the FY 2019/2020, the Ministry disbursed Kshs31.831 billion towards the share of the 50 per cent. In this House, we all represent various constituencies and we are aware that so much has not been paid in terms of salaries for Board of Management (BOM) teachers, Kenya Power bills, ... view

  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want from the outset to support the Bill and thank my colleague Hon. Gladys Wanga for these wonderful thoughts. It is not easy to think and come up with a Bill which subscribes to these kinds of standards. I support this Bill because of what is happening in our society. Today, everywhere you look, including ourselves here, in one way or the other, we have been affected by cancer. This is something that is real and which we must look at. One thing that makes me happy about this Bill is the linkage ... view

  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: country in terms of economy and at the same time, in terms of our health. We will also be able to compete with the rest of the world. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, as we talk about oncology, it is a key area where as a representative of the people of Navakholo, I want to thank one, Prof. Wasike, who is a professor of oncology and who I shared with this Bill before I came here. He was very happy and embraced it. He said that it would bring relief to the medical staff who are constrained in terms of the ... view

  • 8 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. From the outset, allow me to join my colleagues in supporting this amendment by Hon. Mishra, a practising doctor. As I proceed, this proposed amendment will empower our medical practitioners to comfortably compete with their colleagues in the First World economies. Once our people fall sick, at the most complicated levels, they tend to fly to India, the United Kingdom or the United States of America. Once this Bill is enacted, we will have professionals in Kenya opening up their market of knowledge to compete with their equivalents in developed economies. Why should we ... view
  • 8 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: believe that since we were colonised by the whites, a white man has a better brain than a black man. That is very wrong. Our people have the intelligence and ability. There are good doctors in Kenya. When you go to the Nairobi Hospital, the Karen Hospital and the Aga Khan Hospital, you will find the best professors serving there. Therefore, let this open up the sky for our good doctors so that they are able to compete. As we support the Bill, what are we saying? Let us also be cautious that while subjecting our hospitals to competition, let ... view
