I would wish that we open it up once elections are done so that we look at it further and see if it is good to go the independent way. We have the Political Parties Fund, which is supposed to take care of the political wing. This is a proposal we are supporting now but it cannot be sustained in the long run.   • 12 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I support the amendment. The background of this amendment is on the basis that everything is local. When we nominate that group of persons, they represent the best local interests. We are curing a situation. We do not want to nominate somebody from outside a region or jurisdiction, which is in this case the ward, so that we cushion political parties, especially from the headquarters or the county regions, so that they do not just bring anybody to represent the interests which are not there. view
