In the Statement, the Committee should – (1) State whether the Government has an integrated drought management plan or framework for combating drought crisis and mitigating their socio-economic and environmental impacts and if there is one, the status of implementation of the same. The full context of this Statement is that, last year, I raised a similar Statement, which went to three Ministries; the Ministries of Devolution and Planning, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the National Treasury. All the CSs met the Committee that was then led by Sen. Sakaja and a decision was made in writing.
