Report. In that report, I have heard the Committee is planning to undertake a visit to Machakos County in relation to the declassification of the region from the Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) region. As he has put it, it has a direct bearing on the earnings of civil servants and teachers working in that region. While at it I want to draw the attention of the Committee to the fact that the same action has been taken on Kitui County. Sections of Kitui County that have for the longest time been classified ASAL are now being declassified. That has ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to second the Motion by the Senate Majority Leader on the short recess and the adjustment of the Senate Calendar. As he said while moving the Motion, it is a straightforward issue. The Senate and individual Senators will have responsibilities to undertake at the Devolution Conference in Makueni. I take this opportunity because I come from that region, to welcome all Senators to the Lower Eastern region and continue to thank them. You may remember the last time we held Senate mashinani, we were in Kitui and great things happened. I am hoping that when ...

Mr. Speaker Sir, you know the Senator for Nandi has a way of putting himself in trouble with colleagues, especially with me. I am not sure what journey it is that I am embarking on before the next elections. The only journey that we are all working together is to ensure that we widen and deepen devolution. That is what we are doing. I would ask him to substantiate what other journey is this that I am embarking on before the elections. I thank you, Mr. Speaker Sir,

Madam Deputy Speaker, on this matter, I speak for and on behalf of football players in Kitui County. What the Minister for Sports, Culture and Heritage is attempting to do is a shame. This is so because a Ministry and collectively the Government has either been unable or unwilling to create jobs to engage young people. What young people have resorted to do all over the country is that they have coalesced into football clubs and groups. They are playing soccer as the only engagement at the moment. The least that we should expect from the Ministry of Sports, Culture ...

Madam Deputy Speaker, you have given direction, but if they want to comment on any of the two Statements, that will be fine.
