• 29 Apr 2021 in Senate: This idea that we will now have a Judiciary Ombudsman appointed by the President and approved by the Senate; that office has power to dismiss a judge, by- passing a tribunal, is a serious affront to the independence of the Judiciary. There will be need to harmonise this document. As much as we want to change the Constitution to reflect the current needs and aspirations of Kenyans, it will not be done at the expense of whittling down the powers and responsibilities of certain arms of Government and enriching the powers and responsibilities of other arms of Government. view
