I do agree with the sentiments expressed by colleagues that perhaps we, as sectoral committees of the Senate and of Parliament, may need more time to engage with the BPS. • 25 Feb 2021 in Senate: At the conference that we attended, there was serious talk about billions of dollars that the Government had borrowed from China for the construction of an international airport. After the project was completed, it was realized that the runway was constructed on the migratory corridor for elephants. Secondly, it was situated in a sanctuary for breeding birds. By implication, there is no international airline or a serious airline operator who would fly their aircraft into that airport. It became a white elephant project.
