  • 12 May 2022 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.51 (1)(b) to make a Statement on the activities of the Senate Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources for the period commencing 1st January, 2022 to 30th April, 2022. During the period under review, the Committee held 12 sittings. It considered one legislative proposal, one Bill, seven Petitions and seven Statements.   • 12 May 2022 in Senate: The Government committed that the land would be bought, but it has not been paid for and the IDPs were being chased away. The owner of the land had gone to court to evict the IDPs. The Committee dealt with this matter. Fortunately, the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning had agreed to settle those IDPs there and pay for the land so that they can find a will perhaps solve this problem.   • 12 May 2022 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, one was in Bungoma and it was finalised. It was about forest that had been gazetted. The gazetted area belonged to individuals who had title deeds for their land. This matter was sorted out and the Ministry degazetted the same view
