  • 14 Feb 2018 in Senate: On a point of order Madam Temporary Speaker, it is wrong for a Senator in this House to quote another organization other than the Government that we have as having political powers yet this is a Senator that is so much respected. We only have one Government in Kenya that is led by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The others who went to swear themselves in are people who were just making fun. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, before I come to the apology, I want to request that if this rule is going to be followed strictly, could our toilets have a coat hanger? I do not want to go into details, but it is a bit inconveniencing for someone to relieve themselves properly depending on what relieve one is up to, whenever someone has a coat on. Therefore--- view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I request that you also use your good office to ensure that these facilities are properly catered for so that we can follow the various rules, and not just this one of the coat. You also testified to me that I am one of the gentlemen who looks properly dressed. view
  • 6 Dec 2017 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I am a law abiding citizen of the land. Unfortunately I did not do law which has caused a lot of misery to this country. My friend who is speaking on this did law. Those who did law are used to picking on things that are unnecessary and causing trouble. However, for the sake of good unity and peace of this House and for the respect of the Chair, I will not repeat this again. view
  • 9 Nov 2017 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 9 Nov 2017 in Senate: Yes. Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. By the way, for good information to this House, Kirinyaga refers to the original name of Mount Kenya. That is where Kenya got its name. So, even the district just borrowed the name. It is a very revered name especially by us who believe God comes through there. view
  • 9 Nov 2017 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, by ‘us’ I meant the people of Kenya. I have definitely very high respect for your judgement. However, on the matter that was mentioned by Sen. Kang’ata, I beseech you that at whatever opportune time, there is something that seems to be coming up. These discussions at the counties are not just that. They are talking about some sections which is a very serious---. view
  • 7 Nov 2017 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I stand to speak on behalf of the people of Nyeri County. This is a very tragic moment for our country. The people of Nyeri County lost their governor this morning who was on the way to one of the FM stations. He was involved in a very strange accident. Unfortunately, he passed on. This House will remember that in a span of less than one year, Nyeri County has lost two governors. You can imagine the impact of this tragic loss on the people of Nyeri County. The late Dr. Gakuru had just formed his government. ... view
  • 7 Nov 2017 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. On behalf of my family and the people of Nyandarua, I register my condolences with the family of Dr. Wahome Gakuru and the people of Nyeri. I knew Dr. Wahome Gakuru. I have mingled with him. He was a very brilliant man. He was prepared to serve this country but just before doing so, the worst happened. He was a man who would have been a very great person in this country. He shared the Vision 2030 . It was not easy to share it. We are talking of a ... view
  • 7 Nov 2017 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Motion. I want to thank Sen. Kihika for bringing this Motion to this House. It is long overdue. It is not demanding too much to tell the Government that they should do something about waste management. We should have secluded places where we can dump our waste. Devolution has brought a lot of development in the countryside. There are pit latrines in in Kibera which is in Nairobi and also in the major towns. Today, there are many towns in Kenya, the so-called county headquarters, ... view
