• 6 Oct 2020 in Senate: The then President Mzee Kenyatta summoned the then Rift Valley Provincial Commissioner (PC) and asked what the people needed to grow food in that region because that is where settlers were growing food. The then PC Mr. Isaiah Mathenge set up a committee that proposed establishment of GMR. The following year, Kenya had a bumper harvest. view

The Ministry said in their response that the Auditor General’s report is already out, which are waiting to receive.
