  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: After this, I hope Sen. Cherarkey, Sen. Dullo and another Senator who has filed a case, will create time we sit and talk. You can see the mood in the House. You cannot resist the wish of the Senators. They want oversight funds like yesterday. view
  • 11 Oct 2023 in Senate: I urge Sen. Cherarkey on behalf of the people of Nandi County, to wake up tomorrow and withdraw that case, so that I can give Senators oversight money. I support. view

  • 3 Oct 2023 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I first want to profusely apologise to you and to the House. I have had a long day at the NDC; from 9.00 a.m., have not had tea or lunch. With my age, my sugar level is low and, therefore, I did not notice that when I walked in. I may also be getting bad eyesight. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, you can confirm that you were before us at lunch- hour. It was not deliberate or intentional and I tender my unreserved apology. These cigarettes are available in many of the outlets. ... view

That is why we need to look deeply into this Motion and see what interventions the Government can put in place. It is good to adopt best practices from the West, but they also come with a cost to us. When we were in school, we had strict rules. You knew that there were some things, which if you did, you would get serious caning from teachers. I know ... view
  • 20 Sep 2023 in Senate: In some countries such as China, if you are caught with drugs, you can be sure that it is the end of your freedom until your case is heard and determined. We need to revisit. Every country in the world, you do an audit of your Constitution and see where you went wrong and where it is not serving you well. If I get a chance, even if it is the only one, this is one area where we can make it clear in our Constitution that anyone caught selling drugs to young people and is charged in a court ... view
  • 19 Sep 2023 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to join you in welcoming the delegation of the seven hon. Members who are benchmarking, from our neighbour, the Republic of Uganda. I want to report to the House that under the Chairmanship of our Chairperson for the Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Protection, we had a fruitful engagement with the delegation from Uganda. Let us pride ourselves as Kenyans. There is a lot that the hon. Members from Uganda were impressed about our country Kenya. They were impressed to learn that in Kenya, we have a court that is set under Article ... view
