  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thought my ears were misleading me. I thought I heard my name mentioned and I have asked Mr. Kabogo and he has actually told me that I have been mentioned in that Report for helping to waive duty of Kshs2 million. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to peruse the document, consult with the Minister and make a substantive Personal Statement tomorrow. That is with your permission. As you know, I am a presidential candidate--- view
  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Kitale Town is in my constituency. Is the Assistant Minister in order to mislead the House that the Ambassador received defectors in Kitale when, indeed, he did that in Kisii? He came to help the Boda Boda youth of Kitale. What is wrong with that? view
  • 21 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to mislead the House that I did not give notice to the police when, indeed I did notify the officer in charge of Shauri Moyo Police Station? I visited that station and gave notice of our intended meeting. I have a copy of the letter with me here. The letter was received by the officer in charge of Shauri Moyo Police Station. I wish to table it. view
  • 21 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Subsequently, we paid a visit to the Provincial Police Officer (PPO) who addressed me and not the Archbishop. He said: “You should not have the meeting on 12th. You should have the meeting on 13th”. This was publicized. It was on television and radio stations. The PPO was quoted as saying he had then authorized our meeting on 13th. Is the Assistant Minister in order to mislead the House that I gave no notice when, indeed, I did and was authorized by the PPO to proceed on 13th at his suggestion? view
  • 21 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we intend to go back to Kamukunji on 29th January, 2011. We intend to give notice of this meeting. Will the Assistant Minister assure the Members of this House and Kenyans that they will be free to meet at Kamukunji on 29th January, 2011 and he will provide security instead of disrupting the meeting and assaulting us with tear gas and dogs and anything that they did in the 1990s? view
  • 21 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not know if the hon. Member has gone through the Report, because what he is raising before the House was actually considered by the Committee. If he goes to page 10, he will find that all these matters were considered. I fear that the hon. Member has not gone through the Report. view
  • 16 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to present a petition on behalf of IDPs who were affected in 1992 and 1997 and have been waiting for a long time for resettlement and compensation. The Government has already undertaken that by 30th December, this year, it will have completed the resettlement and compensation of the IDPs affected in the post election violence of 2008. It is our prayer that this will be done and that our fellow Kenyans affected will not spend a night in the cold this Christmas. However, for the IDPs affected earlier than 2008, the Government has, time ... view
  • 16 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notice of the following Motion:- THAT, being greatly concerned by the rising cases of accidents involving motorcycles popularly known as Boda Boda, being further aware of the fact that this fast growing sector that is providing affordable motorized and non- motorized means of transport to many Kenyans today all over the country; appreciating the role the sector is playing in contributing to our economy and in providing employment to many unemployed young Kenyans and conscious of the problems and challenges facing this sector, this House urges the Government to urgently provide a ... view
