Billions of shillings were put aside for these stadia. Even from the Report, you can see that none of them is up to 50 per cent completion. This is across the country. That is the route that the Government projects take. It begs the question whether, we, as a country, are serious about how resources are utilised or it does not matter. Somebody has already been paid money to the tune of Ksh113 million and people have even certified that the work that has been done is more than what has been done and money has been paid. How do ...

several years until people forget what happened. We are talking about 2018 now. We are in 2020. We are lamenting at the end of the year. I agree with my colleagues that stern action needs to be taken against the culprits. We want to see them answering for some of these things that have been done. I also want to see no money being allocated to those ministries before they account for the money that was wasted. It is about time we start walking the talk. We will not just talk here and no action is taken.

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, is the Hon. Member in order to claim or allege that by going to the Senate, the women will be turned into flower girls and that they will not be allowed to compete with men? We have 290 constituencies that women can still compete for with men. So, just put it in the right perspective.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The only issue that I had was that women are not going to be allowed to compete and yet, we know that there are 290 constituencies under which we can also compete. Let me also take this opportunity to appreciate the President’s State of the Nation Address. First of all, I acknowledge that he appreciated the House for approving nominees in the various State offices, like the ambassadors and commissioners in good time. Secondly, he dwelt, to a large extent, on the COVID-19 pandemic, and he acknowledged and commended our frontline workers across the ...

two weeks we have seen nothing but the frontline workers complaining that they have not been paid, they do not have the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), their allowances have not been paid and their colleagues have died when they should not have. Therefore, even as we appreciate them, we should see how best this country can take care of our frontline workers. This is a shared responsibility between the national government and the county governments. If we can all recall the amount of money that this country has given for this COVID-19 challenges, we do not understand why in ...

I thank you, Hon. Speaker. Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No.42A(5), I wish to address Question No.226/2020 to the Cabinet Secretary for Energy: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the reasons for the frequent power blackouts in Kabondo Kasipul Constituency which last for many days? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary also explain the steps taken by the Ministry to resolve the problem of defective transformers at Chagere Primary School, Kadie Clean Water Project, Siany Secondary and Nyandolo Primary School in Kabondo Kasipul Constituency, some of which have not been functioning well for the last seven years, and why ...

Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I, too, want to support the Committee in annulling, in entirety, the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Regulations, Notice No. 33 of 2020. Kenyans were very clear about what they wanted in the 2010 Constitution. People must be given an opportunity to give their contribution on those laws or regulations or even budgets that are being proposed in this country. It is clear that this did not happen and therefore the Committee, in their wisdom, rejected the amendment. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
