  • 10 Nov 2021 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also support the adjournment of the House. As you are aware, last year was a very hard year for all of us as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, we never had the devolution conference. This conference is very important because we need to link up with the community to see how devolution is impacting people in view
  • 10 Nov 2021 in Senate: . Mr Speaker, Sir, I agree that it is very important for this Senate to adjourn because we cannot purport to represent people and yet we do not know the impact of whatever we are taking forward will have. We are going bench marking with the counties and also collection of ideas on what works in one place and what does not work in another place. That comparison is important because people can get ideas from each other so that devolution can go to a greater height for the benefit of our people. I beg to support. view
  • 10 Nov 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to comment on the Report for the Committee of Devolution and Intergovernmental Relation. I agree with them that the current governor and the governor mentioned in the Petition are totally different and that since the former governor is no longer in office, there was no point in pursuing the matter. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations for hearing us out as people of Wajir. I also wish to thank you for allowing the Petition to proceed. I just want to confirm that most ... view
  • 9 Nov 2021 in Senate: Thank you Madam Deputy Speaker for giving this opportunity. I do not have enough time. I therefore just want to urge any leader who is involved in this conflict to stop henceforth. The people who are dying are not the son or the daughter of the person you are targeting. Those are innocent people. To the pastoralists, please stop killing each other. While this country is a democratic nation, people boast around of having larger populations. However, every year, we keep arming ourselves to decrease our population. Please our brothers and sisters in northern Kenya, and also the arid and ... view

  • 3 Nov 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I support the Statement and agree that farm inputs should be subsidized. However, we should place responsibility where it belongs. Agriculture is a fully devolved function and, therefore, county governments should also do something about this fertilizer issue because they are on the ground. Instead of stealing billions, let them invest in counties so that the money can help their citizens to enjoy profit and for agriculture to become a viable business. view

  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, Sen. Cherargei is affirming what he had said without a substantive Motion to discuss a Member. What Sen. Cherargei is insinuating is not right. He has done it again even after you tried to make things better for him. view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, you should have made Sen. Cherargei withdraw again because he continued in the same line. view
