  • 4 Oct 2023 in National Assembly: Most Members of Parliament participated in this programme. You could find parents taking their children to school when it is feeding time. After that they would go away with their children. I witnessed that in my village. Therefore, if we are going to have the capitation for this programme, we should be very strict on who participates in it so as to encourage children to stay in school. Some parents are very careless as to take their children to school during feeding time and then go away on the pretext that the children are unwell. This is something we have ... view
  • 16 Aug 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I thank the Cabinet Secretary. She has elaborated on the allocations of funds from the Ministry, but I have not heard of any allocation to Mount Elgon National Park, which is a very important park. I just want to draw her attention to the same because it has been one of the best areas of attraction for both local and foreign tourism. She has not said anything about it. Let me remind her that it has been one of the biggest attractions. view

  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, let me also take this opportunity first and foremost to thank you most sincerely. I have known you even before you became a Speaker of this House. You have made me proud because you have not let us down. You have guided this House in the best way possible. So, I take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely and wish you well in whatever you are going to do. Of course, I wish your staff well like the Clerk of this National Assembly and others. I particularly wish you well because you have made me proud. Whenever ... view

  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Protect me from my neighbour here. He is bringing in something else. Thank you very much for the opportunity, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I agree with what the Committee has come up with. What we lack are regulations to regulate this industry. As you know, this is an industry that employs many of the youths. We have people who have degrees in engineering and what have you and there is no other start-up kit. We have that problem in this country. We have the problem of unemployment which is coming up every year and time. Students like the ones sitting ... view
  • 31 May 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I join you, and the rest of our colleagues to say pole to my colleague, Hon. Kamoti whom I invited to come to Trans Nzoia for an harambee in 2015. On behalf of the people of Kwanza, I want to pass my condolences to the family who will miss him. I have just arrived from Trans Nzoia and the memory is very clear. He was such a humble person but what happened is God’s will. Let him rest in peace. Thank you. view
  • 31 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. I am looking at this document and I am quite impressed in the way it was presented, only that I have not had time to scrutinise the areas that I have an interest in. I think it is a good preparation for the next Parliament. I hope I will be among those who will come in with the next Parliament, In Shaa Allah, God willing. I have done what I can. However, I would have differed with rescheduling agriculture. It is agriculture and livestock that are in the Second Schedule, leaving ... view
  • 31 May 2022 in National Assembly: general. The Members who will come in as new ones may not know, but for some of us who will come back, you can count on me, because I have been here. I do not want to do anything else. I have been requested to go for other seats, but I thought that I should come back and continue doing what I am doing. In fact, I could amuse you that they call me the President of Tanzania in my constituency. Hapa kazi tu. They call me Magufuli. I think it is not just for nothing, but due to what ... view
  • 31 May 2022 in National Assembly: Yes. Sorry to interrupt. I am, as a Kenyan, very concerned by what my colleague is just mentioning. We have a Committee here and we have a CS in charge of security in this country. It is embarrassing what I heard from a local radio station, that Kenyans and people are being killed left and right. view
