Florence Kajuju

Florence was at one point the vice chairperson of Law Society of Kenya (LSK). During her campaigns she overcame all odds to win against the strong Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) wave in her backyard. The impetus to seek a platform to represent the people of Meru was created by the pro bono cases she undertook in the years she practiced law in Meru.

  • 24 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to oppose the Motion that was presented before this House this afternoon. It is apparent that this is a Motion that has been brought before this House today for debate not for purposes of achieving any particular benefit for the Members, but is meant to injure the reputation of the Speaker. The law of equity demands that: “He who seeks equity must do equity.” What we are saying in this House is this: If you are seeking that the Speaker of this House does equity then you must be prepared to do equity ... view
  • 24 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: this Chamber, has it added anything to our curriculum vitaes (CVs), so that when you walk out there you are a better person than you were when you came here? That has not been the case. I, therefore, talk about collective responsibility. In any Cabinet like the one that hon. Duale, hon. Ababu Namwamba, hon. Jamleck and hon. Kamama have served in, there is the aspect of collective responsibility. If the Speaker has done any wrong then we are worse off than him. So, we are guilty as charged. We are going to take the cross of collective responsibility and ... view

I appreciate that lady who set the path for the women of Kenya because she was a first. She did what she could for us to follow her vision.
