  • 1 Sep 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. My Question was very cIear. I want equity in terms of water resources allocation in this country. That is why I asked about the number of boreholes which have been drilled in the last three years in the whole country; in the 210 constituencies. Looking at this document from the Ministry, the issue of equity is not a concept that is applied. In this document, from the tabulation that they have given us, from No.263 to 374, 111 boreholes have been dug in one sub-region - Ukambani. I have no problem with my fellow ... view
  • 1 Sep 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am in agreement with your ruling, but as the Assistant Minister does that, my Question was very specific--- view
  • 31 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want the Minister to clearly state when the census in the eight districts that were cancelled will be repeated. Census data is critical for national planning and allocation of resources? I want the Minister to tell this House and Kenyans at large when the census will be repeated in those eight districts in northern Kenya. view
  • 31 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Minister conveniently refused to answer my question. I wanted to know conclusively, when the Government will repeat the census exercise in those districts in northern Kenya; let him be specific, unless the Government is taking this opportunity to marginalise further, the people of northern Kenya. view
  • 19 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Question was deferred yesterday. Although I do not have a copy of the written answer, I beg to ask Question No.313. view
  • 19 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Water and Irrigation:- (a) whether she could provide a list of boreholes successfully drilled by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation in all the 210 constituencies in the last 3 years; (b) whether she is aware that no borehole has been drilled successfully in North- Horr by the Ministry in the last three years; and, (c) what plans the Ministry has to develop water points in North-Horr Constituency. view
  • 19 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will be out of the country on Parliamentary business next week. So, the Question has to be deferred until the other week. I demand to be provided with a copy of the written answer. view
  • 19 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the Vote of the Ministry of Energy. I congratulate the Minister and his staff for the good work that they are doing in this Republic. I represent a rural constituency and I will speak on behalf of the rural Kenyan. The good work of this Ministry is very visible. This is a Ministry that implements programmes with minimum lobbying from Members of Parliament. Most of our rural institutions, whether primary or secondary schools, health centres, dispensaries or hospitals are today connected with electricity. Our students are studying whenever they ... view
  • 17 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I congratulate the Minister for moving this Motion. I also congratulate the Ministry for the good work that it has been doing in the last few years. In particular, I want to highlight the situation of the Nairobi River and our water towers. The tree planting that is going on in all our constituencies in this Republic is something to be proud of. Having said that, I want to address the issue of air pollution in this country. For us to have clean air in this country, we must reduce vehicle emissions as well as ... view
  • 11 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, in view of the Vision 2030’s goal of creating a just and cohesive society enjoying equitable social development in clean and secure environment; further aware that this development and growth rate are bound to generate high pollution and accumulation of toxic waste, and greenhouse gases contributing to climate change; this House urges the Government to introduce policy guidelines and legislative measures to provide for emission standards, and for matters incidental thereto and connected therewith. view
