But how often do we take care of their medical needs? You realise that the medical needs of this bracket are different from those of people over 35 years of age. • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Looking at the issue of NHIF cards as raised by my colleague, although Members of Parliament have the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), I see a point in us being allowed to use some money from the NG-CDF to help our constituents pay for the NHIF cards. That way, many people will access medical services without necessarily paying for them. In the same breath, we have many employers who deduct money from employees for the purpose of NHIF, but they do not remit the money to the Fund. • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: As I finish, I would like to ask the Ministry of Health to really look into the matter of increased suicides among young people in this country. It is worrying and should be taken seriously. In my constituency, I have formed a committee to investigate the matter and report what is happening. We discuss what to do. I cannot do this alone. I call upon the Government and all social institutions to help deal with this menace once and for all. view

• 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to second the Motion that the time be limited as it has been explained by the Member who has proposed the Motion. It is good to notice that unlike other Motions, this one limits also the amount of time that is given to the Leader of the Majority Party. As the proposer said, time is money. • 13 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I was reflecting on the President’s Speech. He mentioned many things. In addition to his respect of the law, even respecting the judgement of the Supreme Court even though he did not agree with it, I found that I am in the right country. We are headed in the right direction. Long gone are the days when people used to disobey the law, court orders and all the arms of Government.
