  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: operatives, we sat down with our new chairman to look at how we could properly look at this milk issue. I know it hurts a farmer when he produces milk and does not have a market for it. I am looking at North Eastern and the Rift Valley regions, and even Eastern Province, where farmers produce milk but they do not have access to markets. When we come together as a nation and look at this issue of milk, the production is very good but there is no market. Where do we take milk after producing it? Hon. Deputy Speaker, ... view

  • 24 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, my point of order is on the amendment that he has brought. We know that we have a departmental committee in this Parliament dealing with the environment, and which can deal with this matter. So is he in order to amend the Motion when we have a Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources? view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support the Motion. Having been in Nairobi for a long time, I can see a very big change in this city. I remember that at one time we used to call Nairobi “the green city in the sun” but when I look at the dumpsite in Dandora, sometimes I wonder because this matter has been spoken to several times. The Government could have assisted the young people who do not have jobs to make organic fertilizers. I know that it is very easy to make organic fertilizers. We can even ... view
  • 10 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support this Motion and thank hon. Ms. Kajuju whom I supported one day when there was a conflict in this House. I thank her for giving me part of her time. Hon. Deputy Speaker, we know miraa cannot only be grown in Meru. I would like to advise the committee, as led by hon. Kajuju to do a research and do soil analysis in this country. I think most parts of this country can grow miraa. I would also like to advise my friend, hon. Simba, to do some soil analysis ... view

  • 10 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, Thika Super Highway and Nairobi City provide access to miraa market. I think it is in order for us to think much about the miraa crop. I would like to advise hon. Kajuju to advise the miraa transporters when they are driving on the Super Highway--- view

  • 9 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I think we have heard about Goldenberg and so many other things that our country has been facing but being very new in this Parliament we know very well that we had a Government that was there before us and these things occurred at that time. I know very well that when these things came up, they did not paint a good picture of this country. When we are talking about Goldenberg and corruption in this country, seeing my seniors who were in this Parliament before me and they never spoke about it at that ... view
  • 4 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. I also rise to support this Motion. I was in the House when hon. (Dr.) Laboso was moving this Motion. We gained a lot as she moved the Motion. She pointed out how we will lose about Kshs10 billion if we sign the EPAs. view
