  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: To conclude, I was a little bit impressed by Mr. Rashid Muhamed who is 36 years old and has only been up to class 8. I want to encourage him. He is only 36 years. Let him take time and look at his papers, go back to school as he works. It can be an evening class. He can even learn up to Form Four and pursue a degree. It is also a warning to Members of Parliament; a time might come when the requirement to be a CS is a degree. You are a good person but you will ... view
  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: I wish to conclude and say this is a good list. The ball is now to the team to ensure that when they take over offices, they deliver services to the people of this Republic. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 14 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I intend to be very brief because of time. Like my colleagues, let me congratulate the new team which is due to go to EALA. Out of the nine, there are seven seasoned politicians and of course the youth, the son of my neighbour and my party leader and the good young lady, Jematiah Sergon. I am asking for the ruling of the Chair because it is totally out of order for the Government to miss business and totally be absent from the proceedings of the House. I am aware that they are having serious troubles within themselves but there should be no parliamentary party meeting during the proceedings of ... view
  • 12 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I was getting worried because this House is nowadays more Jubilee than anything else. So, I was wondering about the fate of those who are not on either side and who are not recognised by the House. That said, a recess is a very important time for Members of Parliament. As somebody who has been here for some time, you realise that a time will come and you will have to go home. view

  • 12 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for protecting me. As somebody who has been here for some time, recess is a very crucial time for Members of Parliament. This is the time for family, because what happens with politicians is that when we join politics, in most times, we tend to abandon our families, not in a bad way, but we tend to get committed too much with national duties and forget about families. I want to tell Members when you lose your seat, the soft-landing you get is your family. So, I want to encourage Members to get time ... view
