4 Dec 2013 in National Assembly:
Thank you hon. Speaker, Sir. Some of these young legislators were still in primary school. So, they may not recollect. I just want to finish by saying that let us respect our former leaders. We have a lot of respect for the founding father, the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, former presidents Moi and Kibaki. We will still stand very firm. Thank you, hon. Speaker.

Hon. Speaker, as CORD leadership, we have not raised that issue with you. We have not brought a complaint to you. If as CORD leadership we feel that we have an issue with you, we will bring it up and discuss it through a proper forum. I also want hon. Ms. Shebesh to withdraw and apologize for bringing something that is wrong in the House. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. This issue is weighty. Since it involves lives of Kenyans, it is good for it to be handled with the care it deserves by both sides of the political divide. Support should be exercised cautiously, so that hon. Members do not go overboard by saying that they will block the national airport and hold national demonstrations. I am sure they are not talking for the people who have cases at The Hague. Their emotions show support but I want to urge the House that these are cases involving the President, the Deputy President and another ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I just want to send my condolences to the Member for Nyakach and his family for the heinous act where his parents were butchered. There is nothing as painful as losing parents in such a grisly manner and in the hands of people who are merciless. These are people who kill people who are innocent and are not involved in cattle rustling. You have told us that it is good to have a legislative agenda. It is good that we are discussing about the police reforms. Besides giving the police force adequate vehicles and ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. I think it is good for you to make a ruling on this issue because what hon. Shebesh and hon. David Ochieng have raised is very important in that we have seen committee chairmen rushing to clear some names even before the conclusion of the investigations and that is wrong. A case in point is when the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security issued a statement and he was shown on television saying that there was no looting at Westgate and then on the same evening, we were shown a clip ...

Honourable Kajuju. Thank you very much, hon. Speaker, Sir. I think it is good for you because you lead the National Assembly, to give a ruling because as hon. David Ochieng, hon. Shebesh and the Leader of Majority Party, whom we have given a lot of work to respond to everything have said, it is good for Members of Parliament not to misuse the powers and privileges that they have been given by the Constitution and by the Standing Orders. It is also good to know our limitations, in that we are not experts in areas of investigations. It has ...
