(b) My Ministry has set aside Kshs6 million for routine maintenance of the road. The scope of works will include grading and spot-patching. The design for Ukia-Emali Road was completed in 2007, and I have asked my officers to do a quick run to see whether there are changes on the road which would require to be included in that design. I have, therefore, made sure that it will be factored into the financial year 2012/2013, so that it is taken care of when the budgetary allocations are made at the end of the financial year. view
