  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I can only admit that it cannot be one road. They should be many roads, but I am not able to list them down at this particular moment. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Bw.
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as the current Minister, I am not aware that funds advanced to the GoK by the World Bank for the carpeting of the Garissa-Modogashe Road were diverted. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I assume that the hon. Member is talking about the Isiolo-Modogashe Road. The road is 200 kilometres long, and we are negotiating for Kshs2 billion. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to confirm to hon. Keynan and the House that the money from the development partners – who are four, if I am not wrong – has not been diverted to any use other than the original use, in respect of which I have just received a letter of “no objection”. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I agree with hon. Bahari. I had discussed the matter with him, and I had agreed to visit the road. I want to tell him that I want to renew that arrangement, so that we can visit it and get to know its condition and see whether we can top up what we have already allocated to it. view
  • 12 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. I agree with hon. Millie Odhiambo that the two Questions are similar and that if I was to answer the two of them, I would be repeating myself. So, I want to seek your indulgence that we, indeed, as requested by the Member collapse the two Questions and what will not be answered in hon. Mbadi’s Question, hon. Millie can raise it at the supplementary stage. So, I seek your guidance, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. view

  • 12 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I must admit that is a very good question. In every contract on our roads, it is a requirement on the part of the contractor to maintain the section of the road he is working on to a motorable condition because it is part of the contract. So, I want to thank the Member for bringing to my attention that this particular contractor is not minding the section that he has been awarded for construction. After this, I will pursue the matter to make sure that is done. I have a similar case ... view
  • 12 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I must admit that Mrs. Odhiambo- Mabona spoke in a language which is similar to English or near English; or Suba or Dhuluo language. It must be one of those languages. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, every contract awarded, there is a quality assurance department or office within the construction site. Before any payment is made, the quality assurance section on the road must certify that they have tested the section of view
