  • 11 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Agriculture:- (a) whether he could confirm that all the shares previously held by individual tea factories in KETEPA have been transferred to KTDA; and, (b) if the answer to the above is in the affirmative, whether the management boards of the various tea factories were consulted. view
  • 11 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for that brief answer. He has said that tea factories have never directly held shares in the Kenya Tea Packers (KETEPA). Then, somebody must be holding shares on their behalf. Who is holding shares on behalf of these tea factories in KETEPA? What is the shareholding level? Who are the other shareholders and what are their shareholding levels in KETEPA? view
  • 11 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am satisfied with that reply and I will follow up the issue later. 3784 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES September 11, 2007 view
  • 6 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do note that the Assistant Minister has agreed that the Sondu-Kapsoit Road has deteriorated because of the bad condition of the road between Kericho, Awasi and Kisumu. What plans does the Ministry have to reconstruct the road running from Kericho, Awasi to Kisumu to reduce the load on this road which was not meant for heavy vehicles? view
  • 6 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has said that the money allocated for the Kericho-Awasi-Kisumu Road is adequate. How much money is that? view
  • 31 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I agree that we are consulting very loudly! view
  • 31 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for agriculture why the KTDA is charging fees for engineering and technical services rendered for the establishment of new factories, and yet KTDA still takes agency fees from tea farmers. view
  • 31 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is another Question on KTDA. Where there is smoke, there must be fire! The person being roasted in the fire is the poor tea farmer. Employees of KTDA are already being paid from the management fees, being charged on farmers. If they are already being paid salaries from farmers' money, why are they asking the farmers to pay a further amount of 6.5 per cent? view
  • 31 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to confirm to the House that a report that he has been talking about on the management of the tea sector was prepared, but it has never seen the light of day. Could he confirm that it will be given to the public before the end of the week? view
  • 25 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads and Public Works:- (a) whether he is aware that Kilgoris-Nyanguso-Kisii Road is in a serious state of disrepair; and, (b) what plans he has to bring it to a serviceable condition. view
