2 Jun 2020 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I want to echo the sentiments of my colleagues in this House. I want to engage the Government of the Republic of Kenya. Previously I had brought a Statement here and it is like it fell on deaf ears. We challenge the Government that there are a lot of people who are suffering outside there, especially in Kisumu, if you come to a place like Nyando, people are still camping in various schools where they have no houses or food and they are in a desperate situation. Since this Statement that I brought here ...

5 May 2020 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving this opportunity to request for a Statement on humanitarian response in Kisumu County in the wake of the current floods and the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Statement, I would want the humanitarian response in Kisumu---

5 May 2020 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, in the statement, I want the Chairperson to state the following - (1) The humanitarian aid, if any, that has been provided to victims of the on- going floods and vulnerable persons since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. 17 Mar 2020 in Senate:
Yes, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I beg to move a further amendment to the amendment by Sen. Ochillo-Ayacko; to add the following words after the words, “one Sitting in each week”: “on Tuesdays, for two weeks until Tuesday, 14th April, 2020.” I am moving this amendment because we have a responsibility as the Senate. Health is devolved and, therefore, it is squarely our responsibility, as leaders, to oversee Government’s operations. We cannot continue to depend on the media or rumours. We must stand with our counties as leaders. As the Senator of Kisumu, I must stand and give accurate answers to ...

11 Mar 2020 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I could see there is a lot of interest. This afternoon, a number of farmers from Nyando sugar belt came to my office. The reason they were there is that the only operational company, which is Kibos Sugar Company and that has served farmers for a number of years, was ordered closed by NEMA. A number of farmers have taken their produce there for the last one week, but nothing is happening in the Kibos Sugar Company factory. As you have heard from my neighbour, Sen. Cherargei, Kibos Sugar Factory is the only one, after ...
