  • 26 Jun 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. According to the Statement which the 2014 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES June 26, 2007 Minister has just read--- He gave the history of what happened. He also said that there was a Presidential directive for that piece of land to be sold to the people. I agree that the land should have been sold to the people who had collected money. However, at that time, the money was returned to the members. I would like the Minister to clarify whether these people, who now own the land, bought it or not. If they bought it, why is ... view
  • 13 Jun 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, everybody knows that the foundation of education starts from nursery school. These nursery school teachers have been in anguish. They get peanuts for their pay. Sometimes, you will find that the children from these nursery schools are not based in primary schools. They are based outside. Could the Assistant Minister consider placing a nursery school teacher in every constituency who is paid by the Ministry? view

  • 13 Jun 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I thank the Assistant June 13, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1741 Minister for that answer. But I would like to find out from him whether he is sure that we do not have Rift Valley Fever affecting some regions at the moment. If so, why have we stopped continuing with the exercise of vaccinating the animals? view
  • 13 Jun 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, every Kenyan in this country has a cow or goat in their homesteads. It is really unfortunate that we wait until people lose most of their animals before we take any action. Could the Assistant Minister really consider availing the 1742 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES June 13, 2007 vaccine to every divisional headquarters so that if such a thing happens, it is arrested very fast so that we do not continue losing our animals? view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads and Public Works:- 1352 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES May 16, 2007 (a) which areas to be covered under Roads 2000 programme are and when the programme will commence; and, (b) whether he could table a list of the roads to be rehabilitated under the programme. view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for tabling the list of the districts to be covered under Roads 2000 Programme. However, if you look at the list, it indicates that in some of the districts, the programme, started this year. In others, it started in 2004. If he checks with hon. Members, they say the programme has never taken off as indicated in the list. Could he tell this House what is happening? The list says the roads in Makueni District should have been done in 2006, yet we are in 2007 and nothing has happened on the ... view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Roads 2000 Programme has been running for about ten years. However, most of the roads that have been constructed under this programme are not motorable. When donors delay in funding the programme, could the Assistant Minister consider doing some work to make them passable? At the moment, we cannot pass through these roads. Citizens are suffering because of the delay in funding by donors. view
  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, during the last drought many parts of this country lost a lot of animals. People in Mandera Central are losing camels. Could the Minister consider restocking these animals because they are the main means of the livelihood for the people in that area? view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Trade and Industry what steps the Ministry has taken to ensure that horticultural exports from Kenya to the European Union are not affected by the new EU regulations. view
