12 Aug 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. I sit in the Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation and I am well aware of the challenges at the Postal Corporation of Kenya. As you are aware, Postal Corporation of Kenya has become a victim of technology. Since we started having internet, email and those kinds of things, it has been very difficult for the corporation to continue with its traditional business. But it is also important that the management of Postal Corporation of Kenya look into other ways of sustaining themselves. Hon. Deputy Speaker, the national Government ...

12 Aug 2020 in National Assembly:
Very well, Hon. Deputy Speaker. In addition to that, one of the things that need to be looked at is ways in which the Postal Corporation of Kenya can be helped to stay afloat, so that the staff is not rendered irrelevant. One of the ways that I was suggesting is that, the Postal Corporation of Kenya, through statutes or The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor.

policy, was made a national logistics company. We know that in 2017, that is the only time that they made money and were able to pay salaries because they were given the contract to supply all election materials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). We are seeing the national Government using private companies to do logistics. So, this would be an opportunity for the same Government to help those employees not to lose their jobs. I thank you.

5 Aug 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for the opportunity to also make my contribution to this very important Report. First, I thank the Committee for a job well done. I think the Chair of the Committee, Hon. Abdullswamad, is up to the task. And that confirms that you are ready to be the Governor of Mombasa. When you read this Report, which I have done, it reads like what is wrong in this country: issues of corruption, land grabbing, inefficiency and wastages in public organisations. It is a sad state of affairs. And action needs to be taken. This Parliament ...

23 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. First of all, I will start by thanking His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Government and all the people who participated in ensuring that Kenya again emerged victorious at the international stage. This is a very important achievement considering that the UN Security Council is primarily concerned with maintenance of international peace and security. It is a very important body in that it ensures that we have peace and security in the world. It is this body that will ensure key decisions ...

6 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to second this amendments by the Member for Lugari, Hon. Savula, who is my good friend. They are progressive amendments. The public debt is now 62 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With the economic effects of Coronavirus, we are likely to get to a situation where this country will be unable to pay some of these debts. This is progressive. I want to encourage Members to support these amendments. Hon. Savula has proposed two approaches in his amendments: bilateral engagement and multilateral engagement. I think the government should focus ...
